The meaning of success of Mangalyaan for India
I have read many negative comments from people that why does India need to spend such huge amount of money on this mission. The only reason they give that India is a poor(?) country and there are huge number of poor people living in the country.
Their first reason of being poor country stands invalid when I see 2G scam, Coal scam, Thorium scam and many more happened in this poor country in past decade.
Their second reason stands invalid when I see that illogical movies like Chennai express, Kick are earning more than 300 crores. If we compare the costing of Mangalyaan mission from these movies, it’s slight more than these movies earnings i.e. only 450 crores which is considered as the cheapest in space exploration. Even Dhoom3 earnings was more than 500 crore, that is higher than Mangalyaan mission. If the people of poor country spends so much on these illogical movies they do not have any right of cribbing about the poor nation. Another thing is no nation will become rich and developed unless it starts spending on the scientific research and using the result on other aspects of life.
Now, let’s come to the agenda of writing this blog. What this mission’s success stands for India?
1) Respect and Reputation : The very first thing earned from the success of this mission is the respect and reputation which is needed for the growth of any nation but which stoops low in the past decade. Now India is included in the elite club of the four nations or geo-bloc which successfully completed the Mars mission. The first point to be remember that it is the first nation in Asia of doing this which means that the countries like Japan and China, which are considered as super power in Asia, are still not able to do this yet. The second point which is equally important that we are the only nation who did it in first attempt considering that our budget is much less than other successful nations. This success will ensure that India has the opportunity to grow as the leader in the space exploration in world because this success achieved less than 6 years after the success of Chandrayaan.
2) Affordable and indigenous technology : The comparison of the costing of the India’s Mars mission to rest of the members of the elite club will open the doors to many nation looking for affordable and reliable option for their space exploration dreams. The cost of the mission is 1/10th of the costing spent by U.S.A. on it’s successfully conducted Mars mission. This means that India will earn by providing the benefits of her indigenous technology to others. The earnings will further helps in eliminating the poverty of the nation apart from arranging the budget for future explorations. From now onwards, we will only improve the technology which means that further missions will be more cheaper than this one.
3) Exploration : It provides India a big leap in exploring the opportunities on Mars and extending further to other planets. India will be gained by the benefits of the untouched space secrets. Who knows the next mission is for Jupiter.
